Developed in 1983 for jazz and popular music. The 'JA' stands for jazz and the 'VA' stands for variety, or entertainment music.
The JAVA reed features a thicker tip and a more flexible palette (zone where the waves are propagated with the greatest range) than Vandoren's Traditional reed. This allows vibration over a larger surface area with maximum elasticity.
